Movie Review - World War Z
So I saw World War Z last night and decided to let my viewers who haven't seen it yet know some stuff. There are no spoilers here so there's nothing to worry about.
The first thing I want to say is that there is too much hype surrounding this movie. It was made out to be the best zombie flick of all time. It did not deliver. It was just a run-of-the-mill zombie flick. It's good. I liked it. However, it's not the best and it's not even good enough for a second watch. The movie is nothing like the books at all and the movie is surprisingly gore-less for a zombie flick. There's very little blood and guts in the movie. The CGI is too much and is not believable. So when you watch it you will not be blown away by all these zombies rushing like a flood of water. Instead you may even chuckle because it's obviously CGI as nothing in reality moves in this manner. Also, there's a few scenes that make absolutely no sense whatsoever. The ending is predictable and this is what really bothered me about the movie. I hate the movies where you figure out the ending 30 minutes before the movie ends. I want to be surprised. The ending is completely predictable. Also, it's not scary in the slightest. So is it the best zombie movie? -Hell no! The Dawn of the Dead remake is far superior with it's blood and gore, storyline, and actual fear factor. World War Z is a good movie but it's nowhere near the quality that the hype made it out to be.
On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest, I give this a 7.
