Cherufe is a volcano demon in Chilean folklore.
Appearance: Cherufe possesses a giant form made from rock and magma.
Lore: Cherufe lives in volcanoes and is usually kept in check by the daughters of the Sun god who are it's guards and keepers. The daughters possess magical ice swords which they use to keep the demon in line. Sometimes the the monster escapes them and causes earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. In the past, young virgin girls were offered up as human sacrifices to the demon by being thrown into the volcano alive.
Powers: Cherufe has power over fire and can cause earthquakes, throw showers of stones, and cause volcanic eruptions.
Defense Against Cherufe: The daughters of the Sun god with their magical swords are the only line of defense against the demon Cherufe.
