Staring At The Men Who Stare At Goats...

I first blogged about this on my other blog back in 2008, but the book, The Men Who Stare At Goats by Jon Ronson, has been turned into a movie with several A-list actors such as George Clooney, Kevin Spacey and Ewen McGregor.

The book details the insane and humorous side of secret U.S. government/military research into psychic powers, especially that of the kind rumored to be able to assassinate at a distance.

I'm thinking this is going to be one of the better comedies of the year but I am also afraid that people won't understand that the subject matter is actually quite serious and really happened. Behind closed doors, secret government and military experiments into psychic powers have taken place, under various program names.

For example, there was the CIA's Project Stargate, an "umbrella program" that ran through circa 1995 and involved the use of Remote Viewing.

The Men Who Stare At Goats premieres November 6, 2009.

***UPDATE***

I did some research and at this time it looks as if the movie is 100% fake. Even the creators of Blair Witch didn't stoop to the level of deception that the creators of this movie have apparently done. Several sites "proving" the existence of a Dr. Abigail Tyler, or documenting strange disappearances in Nome, Alaska, or articles of discoveries of strange artifacts have surfaced. Using the site, "Whois", a site that allows one to get info on the domain history, one learns that all of these sites were created on August 13, the same day the trailer was released. These are nothing more than viral sites for the movie, suggesting the movie is 100% fiction.

Witchcraft In Dayton, Ohio

FYI: Many of the drawing and illustrations used in this news segment come from Erica Jong's book, "Witches", a fascinating and highly recommended book on the subject.

Jessica Simpson Hired A Witch?

An article was recently released claiming that Jessica Simpson hired a witch in California to come to her house and put a "curse" on Tony Romo for breaking up with her.

Simpson supposedly met the witch online and invited her over to her home where the duo lit a candle and some incense while chanting an incantation.

Dr. David Clarke On The MOD UFO Files

FYI: Admiral Lord Hill-Norton was a 5 star Admiral and former head of the British Ministry of Defense. His words should not be taken lightly. For an American equivalent, it would be someone like Colin Powell coming forward to say that something significant happened with regards to a UFO encounter.

Paraglider? UFO? Flying Humanoid?....Someone Or Something Buzzed JFK

An unidentified something buzzed JFK on August 16, 2009 at approximately 5:30 PM. The something was described as looking like a paraglider. At one point the something touched down and seemed to drop something off before taking back off into the sky. Five police helicopters could not locate the unidentified "paraglider".

According to the uploader of the clip;

"Something flew over 22L and 22R causing an American 767 to go around 22L to avoid it. Later ended up closing 22R for 5 Police helicopters to search for him and forcing several aircraft to divert due to being restricted to one runway. Seemed to come down to about 10-20 feet off the cargo ramp possibly dropping an object and then climbing to 1000 feet flying outbound on a 030hdg on an active final approach!"

There are such things as powered pargliders, but this is just downright bizarre! Just who or what was flying over JFK and what was dropped off? Was it a paraglider? Was it a UFO? Could it have been one of those mysterious Flying Humanoids? Who knows?

Man Finds "Voodoo Dolls" At Father's Grave

Houston, TX, resident Pilar Martinex Jr, made a recent shocking discovery at his father's grave. Buried two feet under the headstone were 22 jars filled with wax "Voodoo Dolls" stuck with pins, women's panties, and pictures of unidentified women.

A Houston Voodoo priest believes the items were put there to work harm against someone.

The family would like a Pastor to bless the grave or even a new burial due to the desecration.

If Police can locate the individual(s) responsible for the desecration they could face charges of criminal mischief.

Son Finds Voodoo Dolls At Dad's Grave

Note: The items buried may not have anything to do with the deceased, as people working "black magic" will often take items to dispose of at graveyards. However this isn't the only interpretation for the placement of the items. It is possible that a member of the family may have invoked the spirit of the deceased to help them gain revenge on their enemies. A third explanation is that we are dealing with a love spell or a spell to keep a woman faithful, however I tend to personally lean toward the first option. My guess is that we are dealing with a female perp and that the spell was designed to get rid of or to gain revenge on her female
enemies/competition.

I'm more interested in learning what color the wax was as this could determine what type of spell was being performed and if it was truly "Voodoo Dolls" which were discovered, or say just the remnants of candle wax used in spells. There are even candles in the shape of a man or woman which are employed in magic as well.

The Wolf Woman Of Mobile Alabama And Another Strange Werewolf Comment

Pastor Swope at The Paranormal Pastor blog has a fascinating tale of The Wolf Woman of Mobile, Alabama.

In the beginning of April, 1971 (notice the proximity to April Fool's Day), residents near Mobile, Alabama began reporting encounters with a creature that appeared to be half-woman, half-wolf. The creature was described as having the upper portion of a woman's body but with the lower hindquarters of a wolf. As with other reports of sightings of strange creatures, nobody was hurt. People were frightened from the encounter but there were no reported victims of any attack.

On the subject of werewolves, I have received another strange werewolf related comment in response to my posting of YouTube clips, on my other blog, pertaining to the Southend Werwolf case.

In case you are not familiar with the Southend Werewolf case, here is a repost of the clips;

I received this first strange comment in response to the post:

"danamin day said...
please help me, your not da only werewolf in town, please kud u help me with this curse?

July 29, 2009 5:48 PM"

A couple of days ago I received another strange werewolf comment regarding the post.

" Anonymous said...
wonder what you would do if an actual werewolve came and found you.....
wonder if you would regret devoteing so much time to discovering werewolves.....
wonder if you would live past that day.....
surely if werewolves have managed to stay hidden this long, they would be mighty pissed at you for your attempts at trying to unearth them. maybe not all werewolves find what they are a curse, maybe, they quite enjoy being more in tune with their animal nature.

You can read both comments and my replies HERE.

In a previous blog I mentioned the story of meeting a gal at a nightclub who believed her boyfriend to be a real werewolf. So the belief of actual real werewolves is anything but dead.

UFO X-Files, Larry King 8/19/2009

From last night's program...

The Uninvited

Tiyanak

In Phillipino folklore, a Tiyanak is a monster that mimics a newborn baby's cries, as well as it's appearance, in order to lure and trap it's human prey. Like the fairy legends of European lore, the Tiyanak also delights in leading travelers astray as well as kidnapping young children.

Appearance: A small, brown-skinned dwarf the size of a newborn baby, with long gray hair and sharp claws and teeth. Other accounts describe the monster as looking more or less like a newborn baby, save for sharp claws and teeth.

Lore: Tiyanak are believed to be the souls of babies whose mother's have died before they could be born, or else the souls of babies who have been aborted. Other legends suggest that babies that die before being baptized run the risk of becoming Tiyanak.

Powers: Tiyanak can shape-shift into the form of a newborn baby, even going as far as mimicking a newborn babies cries. Tiyanak can also float and fly through the air either in the form of a baby or in the form of a bird.

Defense Against Tiyanak: Just as with fairies, turning one's clothes inside-out is defense against being led astray by Tiyanak. Tiyanak are frightened of loud noises and can be scared of by fireworks, bells, cymbals, etc. Garlic, other spices, and religious objects can also repel Tiyanak.

Although not stated to be a "Tiyanak", the monster baby in the movie Grace shares many features in common with the creature of Phillipino folklore.

Sightings: Vampires

"Peeping Tom" Alien

I watched the ABC special, "The Outsiders", about alien abductees, and was disappointed that so much time was dedicated to Stan Romanek. I, for one, do not believe his story. I believe the UFO he videotaped looks surprisingly like a lighted balloon and that his "Peeping Tom" alien footage to be ridiculous.

I'm not against the notion of "Peeping Tom" aliens, as these encounters are frequently reported by abductees. In fact, below is a clip of an account that I consider to be far more credible than Romanek's alleged experience.

ABC Tackles Alien Abduction Tomorrow

Tomorrow night, August 18, 2009, ABC will air, The Outsiders, Abducted By Aliens: Believers Tell Their Stories, at 9:00 PM CST.

As the title suggests, the show will document the lives of people who believe they have been abducted by aliens, including twins who claimed they have been abducted since childhood by beings they referred to as "the bald men", as well as a former U.S. Marine named Terrell Copeland, whose story was also documented in the recently canceled series, UFO Hunters.

Phantom Clown Chases Man In Indiana

Around 3 a.m. on August 11, 2009, an Indiana man called 911 and reported that a clown had chased his truck before disappearing back into the woods from which the clown came. A subsequent search of the woods failed to find any evidence of the alleged clown.

Police: Clown Reportedly Chases Man Near Ardmore Trail

Loren Coleman blogged on this story and for some strange reason connected it to the failed abduction of a child in Ardmore, Oklahoma. The would-be victim did not describe her attacker as a clown, so I'm not following Coleman's logic. You can read more about it on Coleman's blog, Cryptomundo.

Although not discussed in the original news article, this encounter can be linked to rashes of similar encounters with clowns who frighten people an even attempt to kidnap children. These beings have been subsequently labeled, Phantom Clowns. Loren Coleman played a vital role in documenting encounters with Phantom Clowns. To read more about the subject, check out his book, Mysterious America.

Mothman Witness Passes Away

Mothman eye-witness Marcella Bennet passed away in March of this year. Bennet was among the more credible of eye-witnesses to the strange creature that made routine and frightening appearances in the town of Point Pleasant, WV in 1966-1967.

According to Bennet, she, her infant daughter and two other individuals were returning home late one night in November of 1966. Upon exiting the car, Bennet and the others witness a dark gray humanoid shape with wings and red-glowing eyes approach them from behind. Bennet was so frightened that she actually fell on top of her baby daughter. Upon reaching the safety of the home, the group was horrified to learn that the unknown creature was attempting to peer into the windows.

Bennet's sighting was later reenacted for the Unsolved Mysteries segment on Mothman.

Bennet's passing marks the second Mothman-related death this year, alongside the death of John Keel, famed author of The Mothman Prophecies.

The Origins Of Witchcraft

Witches Fascinate Us

Jasper Hamill writes about the long fascination society has with Witches, comparing the Witches of yore to perceived terrorists who somehow transformed into an archetype society can't get enough of. The terrorist comparison is quite apt. Witches were believed to be completely evil and to be dedicated toward the destruction of Christians and Christianity. Instead of using bombs, Witches were believed to magically curse neighbors crops, cattle, and children, sickening and killing them. Such power to destroy was ironically referred to as "Blasting".

Why Witches Put A Spell On You...

So are we fascinated with Witches? I know I am! The archetype of the Witch is one of my favorite of the monster archetypes. I know I am fascinated by them, and this should come as no surprise as the archaic definition of the word, "fascinate", means "to bewitch"!

Lake Worth Monster Article In DFW

Remembering the Lake Worth Monster

Mystery Still Engulfs Lake Worth Monster

Taboo: Nudity (Naked Witchcraft)

Some Wiccans worship in the nude, not out of any sexual connotation, but in the belief that doing so brings them in closer communication with Nature. By shedding the artificialness of clothing, the worshipper is brought into a more primal state of being, free and in tune with pristine Nature.

Worshipping "Sky-Clad" (euphemism for nude) is also a requirement set forth in the Charge Of The Goddess:

"...and as a sign that ye be really free, ye shall be naked in your rites..."

Warning: The following clip contains nudity (mostly backsides with nipples and genitals blurred-out).
